For your weight distribution system with sway control for your 14 KZ Sportsmen Classic 250 trailer, I recommend the Reese Steadi-Flex Weight Distribution System w/ Sway Control - Trunnion - 10K GTW, 1K TW # RP66559. This will account for the loaded trailer tongue weight as well as any cargo behind the rear axle of your Ram truck. That combination is referred to as the total tongue weight and this system is rated for that total tongue weight between 500 and 1000 lbs. You ideally want your loaded trailer tongue weight and cargo behind the rear axle to be in the middle of that rating, so this system will work very well for you.

You will also need a hitch ball like # A-90 for a 2 inch diameter ball or # 19286 for a 2-5/16 inch diameter ball depending on your trailer coupler size.

For your 2005 Ram 1500 4x4 Hemi, I recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 for your electric brake controller. This controller will give you an LCD screen that will give you easy to understand diagnostics as well as presets to make things easy. If you have the factory 7-way or the factory 4-way trailer connector, then your truck will already have the wiring harness plug for the brake controller. To attach your brake controller you would only need the custom harness # 3020-P. If you do not have the factory trailer connector, then the # ETBC7 is your best option to hardwire your controller. You will need # 119178KIT as well if you don't have the 4-way trailer connector.
