How Does Turn Signal Flash When Applying Brakes Since They are on the Same Circuit
Question:
Your answer regarding wiring....But even on trailer stop, tail, and turn signal lights the functions are all on one bulb, sometimes 2 depending on the light. But there are still 2 separate wires one for turn and brake, and one for running lights. My question.... In this instance... the trailer has a single Bulb with dual fillments. According to the above explanation, one filament carries both turn AND brake functions. The second filliment carrying the running light function. This being true... when braking and turning only one filament is caring both functions... how can the turn signal flash... it is already energized...

The turn signal is designed to override the brake signal so that the light will flash. A lot of times it's controlled by the signals being sent from the converter box, but not all trailer wiring harnesses have a converter box. Those that don't the signal is controlled by the vehicle sending the signals.
