Recommended Trailer Brake Controller and Wiring for 2017 Jeep Cherokee
Question:
Have a 2017 Jeep Cherokee Latitude Not the Grand Cherokee. It has factory installed tow package. Class 3 hitch, Bargeman electric plug and 4 pin at rear bumper Are the brake controllers for this model SUV Plug and Play? P2 or P3? For a small 2000 lb one axle RV with electric brakes.

As long as your 2017 Jeep Cherokee Latitude has an existing 7-Way connector at the rear of the vehicle, a trailer brake controller will indeed be a plug and play installation.
For the brake controller itself, I highly recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller # 90885. This is an excellent, proportional controller that will activate the trailer brakes at the same time and with the same intensity that you apply to them in your Jeep. It features an easy to read, digital display and continuous diagnostics that will alert you to any potential issues.
In order to install the controller, you will just need the Plug-In Adapter # 3014-P. One end of the adapter will connect to the controller itself and the other end will plug into the built-in port beneath your Jeep's dash.
