Can Curt Fifth Wheel to Gooseneck Adapter # 16055 Be Used on Long Bed Truck
Question:
Hi I have a question on the gooseneck hitch for the 5th wheel rails. Im wondering what the 3in offset if for and will that work for an 8 foot bed. Thank you

The 3 inch offset of the Curt Above-Bed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch for Fifth Wheel Rails # 16055 that you referenced is designed to either move the weight of the trailer either slightly before or after the axle of the truck. In most cases this is used to give additional clearance to allow the truck cab to not end up hitting the overhang of the trailer around corners. But this isn't typically needed for an 8 foot long truck bed. So you can either run it forward or reverse and it would be fine.
