Tekonsha Primus IQ TK90160 Trailer Brake Controller Installation in 2010 Mazda CX9

Question:

I bought the tk90160 and would like a harness to plug into the car feom the controller to avoid splicing the factory harness. I do NOT see any plugs under the dash to plug a connector into so hopefully you guys will know where that is in addition to the harness. The harness/connector would go from the back of the brake controller to the vehicle harness with no splicing....plug and play. Thanks in advance!!

Not all vehicles have an under-dash connection port for installation of a trailer brake controller such as the Tekonsha Primus IQ # TK90160. Usually pickup trucks and other vehicles expressly designed to tow a trailer and that have a factory-installed trailer socket will have this feature included under the dash. The 2010 Mazda CX-9 does not have such a connection port.

In this particular vehicle brake controller installation will use a combination of a basic 4-pole harness # 118520, which IS a plug-and-play item, and our all inclusive Brake Controller Install Kit # ETBC7. I have linked a comprehensive installation article for the # ETBC7 kit. This kit has all of the parts needed to wire a controller like the Primus IQ and to install the required 7-way trailer socket.
