Today well be reviewing the lockable lid for the Carpod hitch mounted cargo carrier, part number M2201. The Carpod lockable lid will keep all your gear locked away by adding the galvanized steel lid, which will minimize the need for tie-downs or a cargo net. They also have holes for a 3/8 inches diameter padlock. Itll deter theft when used with padlock. It's galvanized steel tubing construction will hold up against abuse and resist rust, corrosion and chipping with a black powdered coat finish. Sold my pickup about a year ago. The cargo carrier and bag have proven to be an excellent accessory for my Mid Sized SUV. Perfect for small jobs like trips to the land fill, or picking up items at the local home and gardening store. Also perfect for extra luggage on trips to the beach. Quick and easy to attach and remove. I'm very satisfied with the purchase !!

Nice Hitch cargo carrier! versatile with cage alone ( with or without the top) and a bag that fits inside. Have to be a bit creative in using locks as we had trouble with the original latches. Ended up using a plastic coated steel cable with a krypton lock. Now it's very secure. Only improvement suggestion: Make it a little easier to figure our how to configure the bolt and cotter pin assembly so that one can actually tilt the basket down. Still working on that. Suppose it's an easy fix, but haven't had time to spend on it.
This cargo carrier (w/ locking top option) is just what we needed to carry larger items with our RV. No more putting wet & dirty mats back in the RV after a good rain.
The looks and quality of this carrier is first class. Good workmanship and so easy to open / close with the lock pins. We wish we had gotten this years ago!
Unfortunately, the top does not fit my cargo carrier. Seems like the fittings are bent and weren't engineered correctly. Same goes for the entire product.
Absolutely great product! Took it on a 2400 mile trip through Montana and Wyoming. No problems whatsoever. Purchased the bag and lockable lid also. Highly recommend the entire unit.
