Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver and Towing System for 2018 Toyota RAV4
Question:
Can I receive a written guarantee that would come with the trailer hitch that would not void my Toyota warranty because is not a Toyota factory hitch?

When you install an aftermarket part on your vehicle like a trailer hitch receiver in this case, you are protected by the Magnuson–Moss Warranty Act. This act states, in part, that unless the installation and the part caused a problem then the Toyota Factory Warranty cannot be voided. I recommend looking it up online and you can print it out if you need the hard copy.
For your 2018 Toyota RAV4, the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # C13406 is my recommendation. This installation requires no drilling so it will not change anything from the factory frame. The underbody panel will need to be trimmed or removed. The hands-free functions will still work on either side of the center receiver tube.
If you will be towing with this hitch receiver, I recommend the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118578. This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your Toyota RAV4's wiring harness, which is located inside your trunk, behind the tail lights on both the driver's side and passenger's side. You will need to remove some interior trim or carpeting to access the harness. Once you've plugged in the T-connector, run the hot lead up to your car battery. Connect the lead to the included fuse holder, and then connect the fuse holder to the positive terminal on your battery and insert the provided fuse. Once installed, this harness can be stored in your cargo area when not in use. The powered modulate will protect your factory wiring from overload and there is no splicing of wires into your vehicle.
For a ball mount, I recommend the B&W Tow & Stow 2-Ball Mount - 2" Hitch - 3" Drop, 3-1/2" Rise - 7.5K - Black, # BWTS10035B. This will give you a 2 inch and 1-7/8 inch hitch ball as well as give you adjustability to tow a trailer level by offering the 1 inch height adjustments between a 3 inch drop and 3-1/2 inch rise. This ball mount also offers the ability to hide the ball on the backside when not in use to give you a clean look and save your shins when loading cargo in the rear hatch.
