Can I flat tow or use a tow dolly to tow a 2007 Chevy Trailblazer with a 2004 Chevy Silverado 1/2 ton extended cab truck?

The 2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer can be flat towed. If you have the 4 wheel drive Trailblazer the vehicle is towable as is, or can be towed on a tow dolly like the RoadMaster Tow Dolly, # RM-2050-1.

If you have a 2 wheel drive model, a transmission lube pump is required for flat towing. The 2 wheel drive model is not recommended for towing with a tow dolly.

You should confirm the towability and pre-towing procedures for any vehicle you might select with the owners manual or contact the vehicle manufacturer for specific towing procedures.

If you decide to flat tow the Trailblazer you will need a base plate kit, tow bar, safety cables and a lighting solution to activate the Trailblazer tail lights when towing.

The Roadmaster XL Base Plate Kit, # 3109-1, is the correct base plate kit.

You could use any of the Roadmaster tow bars with this base plate kit. For towing with your 2004 Chevy Silverado 1/2 ton extended cab truck, I would recommend going with a receiver mounted tow bar like the RoadMaster Falcon 2 Tow Bar, # RM-520.

For safety cables you can use the RoadMaster Coiled Safety Cables, item # RM-643.

For lighting you have three choices. A magnetic kit would be a good choice if you will be towing infrequently. The Magnetic Towing Light Kit, # RM-2120, would be a good choice if this is the case.

If you will be towing frequently you can use a bulb and socket kit, item # RM-155, or a Diode Wiring Kit, item # RM-154. I opt for the bulb and socket kit when applicable because it keeps the tow bar wiring completely separate from the towed vehicle wiring. Either option will work on the Trailblazer.

I have attached a article and a couple of videos that may be helpful when installing your setup.
