Which Pins of 7-Way Round and Blade Carry Brake Output

Question:

One of my customers has a 3 axel fithwheel camper he wants me to pull back to his home because his pick up that pulls it blew a motor. I can hook it but the plug is a flat 7, compared to my round 7 plug. I can wire up a plug for the lights to work, but my question, is how to wire the breaks. I am assuming running power to the Break Controller Output blade. And using the Tekonsha Prodigy P2, to power it. Am I correct in assuming this? Also, Colorado DOT Officer said that I need a Break Away Switch. What is this? And do you carry this part ?? Thanks

Running the brake output circuit from your round 7-way to the blade style 7-way would be what you would need to do. On the blade 7-way the brake circuit is the 5:00 pin and on a round 7-way it's typically the center pin.

The breakaway kit would be on the trailer so you'd need to check it out to be sure it has that. I would be surprised if it didn't. That's not something you can install on the tow vehicle. I attached a help article with more info on breakaway systems as well.
