The fit of a camper tie-down kit depends on the total configuration of the truck. For your 1997 K1500 pickup the various confirmed fits for camper tie downs depend on the bed length, hitch type and other factors. It will fit almost any pickup's stake pockets so long as the truck is not a dually and has straight fenders and single-wall construction. It works for campers up to 8-feet in length. And included/removable spacers provide a good fit inside the stake pocket. Drilling is required and the installation is permanent.
