Therma Heat Holding Tank Heater Pad is Not Getting Warm with Power Applied
Question:
Just installed Heating pad to fresh water tank. There is 12 VDC power going to the leads of the heating pad. The outside temperature is upper 60s. The pad is not getting warm when power is applied to the leads. How do I know pad is working now before I go to cold weather? Thx

The Therma Heat Holding Tank Heater Pad # 277-000163 referenced in your question will automatically turn on at 45 degrees Fahrenheit but will auto off at 67 degrees Fahrenheit. If the pad is not getting warm with power applied to the leads, it is likely too warm outside for the pad to start working.
As long as power is applied to the unit, they will do a great job of warming your RV tank when the temperature dips below 45 degrees. You might try testing the unit at night when temperatures get closer to its activation range or simply sticking them in a fridge for a bit first if you are wanting to ensure proper operation.
