Will Proportional Brake Controller Activate Trailer Brakes When Hitting Bumps

Question:

HI,,, question is on proportional brake controls, will the sensor activate the brakes when driving over dips in the road that cause the truck to kinda rock back and forth? or coasting down a steep hill?

If you were on the brakes and you hit a big enough bump a proportional brake controller might slight activate for a split second but if you weren't on the brakes at all this wouldn't happen at all. Also the bump would have to be rather large. The brakes of the vehicle have to first be on for the controller to start trying to sense deceleration.

This is not an issue or problem we've ever had a customer come back and complain about so it wouldn't be an issue for you.
