Roof Rack and 6 Ski Carrier for a 2012 Subaru Forester

I need to get cross bars and a 6-ski roof rack for my 2012 subaru forester. Can I get the malone round cross bars and a different brand ski rack or do the brands need to match?

You can use the Malone Square Bar kit with any square bar compatible ski racks that you want.

For the Square Bar kit, you have two options:

50 Inch Square Bar Kit for Raised, Factory Side Rails, part # MPG201
58 Inch Square Bar Kit for Raised, Factory Side Rails, part # MPG202

From there, you'll pick a ski rack that is compatible with square bars and then you'll be able to use almost any carrier on the market.

I recommend taking a look at the Yakima FatCat EVO6, part # Y03096. this is a 6 ski, 4 board carrier that can mount just outside of your roof rack towers (Making it a better fit with the 58 inch crossbars) for easier access. This rack includes an integrated raising kit for taller bindings and includes locks that secure the skis and the rack to your roof kit.
