To flat tow your 2006 Jeep Rubicon you will need a base plate kit, tow bar, safety cables, vehicle tow bar wiring, a supplemental brake system, and possibly a high-low adapter.

Since your Rubicon has the D-Ring bumper mounts you will want to use either part # RM-035 if the shackle mounts are 3/4" thick or part # RM-035-1 if they are 1" thick. This will take the place of a base plate kit and will work great with the Roadmaster Falcon 2 Tow Bar # RM-520 and RoadMaster 68" Single Hook, Coiled Safety Cables # RM-643. Both of these items are rated for 6,000 lbs which is no problem for your Jeep.

For vehicle tow bar wiring I highly recommend going with the Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267. This includes a 6-Way connector that will install on the front of your Jeep and will give you a quick and easy way to plug in the wiring from your RV's 7-Way to power your tail lights. If you have separate lighting you will also want to install the converter # 118158 and 2 additional diodes # RM-792 to retain separate turn and brake signals.

One of the most popular supplemental braking systems that we have to offer is the SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System # SM99251. When it is installed you hardly know it is there, and it only takes the flip of a switch for it to be ready for flat towing. The Roadmaster Brake-Lite Relay Kit # RM-88400 will also need to be used to complete this installation.

Most flat towing applications require a high-low adapter so that towing setup is level. I have attached a link to our selection of adapters as well as a link to a helpful article for you to reference in choosing the correct one.

Some installation videos have also been linked for you.
