Weight Capacity of Roof on 2017 Ford Edge SEL for Use With Rooftop Tent

Hello, I have 2017 Edge with the roof rails but no cross bars. I am considering getting a roof tent to put on top of my 2017 Edge, and need to know what the weight capacity to determine if this is a feasible option. Thanks,

The aftermarket roof racks made for your 2017 Ford Edge will have a weight capacity based on the vehicle's own limit. All roof racks that fit the 2017 Ford Edge with flush-mounted roof side rails are shown on the linked page and all have a maximum load capacity of 165-lbs. Rooftop tents typically include a ladder or support posts that carry some of their weight. This depends on the specific tent design.
The Yakima SkyRise HD 2-Person Tent # Y07436 can be used with a vehicle having a 165-lb roof capacity. And it works with many types of roof rack crossbars including round, square, aero, and elliptical shapes. The Skyrise includes a waterproof rainfly with integrated skylights, 2-1/2-inch thick foam mattress, and a telescoping aluminum ladder.
For compatible roof rack crossbars I suggest the Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero rack made of parts # RRVA126B-2 and # RRSX024.
