How to Find the Correct Idler Hub Replacement for Boat Trailer

Question:

I have removed the hub and inner and outer bearings are # L44649, so race must be 44610. Replacement bearings would be your part # Bk1-150. The grease seal is not the one that fits my hub. The # on it are 1.979 OD, 1.372 Id, and .488. I am thinking your part # BB60005 would be correct. The seal dimension are slightly different. The hubs do have bearing buddys installed. I did not have the seal ring but have the o-ring on the axle in a place where it does nothing. The bearings may have been replaced by the original owner.

In order to find the correct wheel bearings, you can take apart your hub assembly and look at the bearings themselves; wipe away the grease and you should be able to see the part number stamped directly on them. If you are unable to find them, you would need to use a digital caliper such as # PTW80157 and measure your spindle to the thousandths of an inch where the bearings ride. You can use the photo I've attached to see exactly where you need to measure.

I've also added a link to a help article on common bearing sizes, as well as a link to our available bearing kits as well as a link to our available hubs that fit a 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern.

Thank you for all the information you provided, and kit # BK1-150 would work for you along with grease seal # BB60005. Since the kit does come with the grease seal that will not fit you could also get the parts separately - bearings # L44649, race # L44610, cotter pin # 165649 and spindle washer # 5-101.
