The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 13390 comes with everything you will need for installation except the tools including 4 carriage bolts, 4 hole spacers, 4 hex nuts, and 2 firewire bolt leaders. In order to install this hitch you will need a 10/19 mm socket, 8" extension, ratchet, torque wrench, 17/32" drill bit, rotary tool, and file.
If you will be doing any towing with the hitch then you will also need a wiring harness, ball mount, and hitch ball. For a wiring harness I recommend using the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector part # C56040. For a ball mount I recommend using the Curt Ball Mount part # C45030 and for a hitch ball you will want part # C40002 for 1-7/8", part # C40004 for 2", or part # C40005 for 2-5/16". If this is not the right size ball mount you can use the attached article to find the correct one for you.
If you will not be towing with the vehicle then you will need the Curt Trailer Hitch Support Strap part # 18050 which is required by Curt. If you will be using the hitch with a bike rack or cargo carrier please let me know and I would be gald to provide my recommendations for you.
I have also attached an installation video of the trailer hitch installed on a similar 2012 Subaru Outback.
