Recommended Roof Rack and Roof Mount Bike Rack for a 2014 Nissan Versa Note

Question:

I’m looking for a roof rack for my 2014 versa note. I don’t have existing rails or cross bars. I am only going to be carrying one mtn bike up there. What do you suggest? I was looking at the Yakima with the round cross bars, or the Inno that is about the same price. Also, what size fairing?

Out of the Thule, Rhino-Rack, and Inno roof rack options for your 2014 Nissan Versa Note I recommend going with the Rhino-Rack roof rack. It has a weight capacity of 165 lbs (refer to your owner's manual for your roof weight capacity) and is the best quality for cost option. The extra weight capacity would come in handy if you were to end up using a cargo box, like the RocketBox Pro # Y07192, along with your bike rack.

The Rhino-Rack roof rack option includes aero crossbars # RRVA118B-2, feet # RRRLKVA, and custom fit kit # DK382. The locks are included with this roof rack to secure your investment.

For a fairing you will want to measure the distance between the legs of the roof rack system. Since the crossbar is 46" long then the 38" Fairing # RRRF2 would most likely be what you are looking for.

One of the most popular Yakima roof mounted bike racks that we currently have to offer is the Yakima FrontLoader # Y02103. This bike rack will give you a 40 lb weight capacity and secures your bike by the wheel so unless your bike has a fender you are good to go! It does come with a safety cable to lock your bike to the bike rack, but you can add a rack lock and make all of your Yakima locks the same with the Lock Cores # Y07206.

Since you will be using a fairing you will need to mount the bike rack backwards.

I have attached some review videos for you to check out as well.
