Recommended Trunk Mounted Bike Rack for 2014 Mercedes-Benz GLK-Class

2014 Mercedes-Benz GLK-Class Just curious - Why is the Thule Gateway NOT recommended for this vehicle? Thanks, My new bike needs a rack.

I do have a solution for you, however the Thule Gateway Pro 2-Bike Rack # TH88VR referenced in your question is not confirmed to fit your 2014 Mercedes-Benz GLK-Class. This is simply because Thule has not been able to confirm that the trunk rack will safely work with the particular design and factory rear spoiler at the top of the hatch on your vehicle. There is not a Thule trunk mounted bike rack available that is designed to fit your vehicle.

For your new bike, I recommend looking at the Yakima FullBack 2 Bike Rack # Y02634. This trunk mount, 2-bike rack is confirmed to fit your vehicle and will work great to secure your new bike. It features anti-sway cradles with ratcheting straps to hold the bike frames at 3 points. The adjustable arms will help keep the bikes level and the rubber and foam pads on the contact points will protect your vehicle's finish from scratches and scuffs. It can carry up to 2 bikes at 35 pounds each. It also includes locks for the rack and the bikes.
