Cargo Carrier Recommendation for a 1-1/4 inch Hitch on a Cedar Creek 5th Wheel Trailer

Question:

Would the 63155 hitch be a better choice? In reviewing your web site further I saw the carrier had a better upswept bar for connecting to the receiver. It seemed to raise it up a little more off the ground. Thanx

The Curt 20x48 Cargo Carrier, item # C18145, that you mentioned would be a great choice for your application.

Using a carrier at the rear of a trailer subjects the carrier and contents to greater forces than on a vehicle, so you will need to be sure to stay well within the weight capacity of the lowest rated item, either the hitch, trailer frame, or the carrier. The Pro Series 20 x 48 Cargo Carrier may be a good choice, if your 1-1/4 inch receiver doesn't have a stop in the receiver to prevent some accessories from being installed. Some older Class I hitches have this weld stop to prevent them from being overloaded. The photo I attached shows the stop. You should check your hitch, if it is rated as Class II or it does not have the stop in the receiver then you are correct the Pro Series 20 x 48 Cargo Carrier, # 63155, is a better choice because it does provide more clearance. You may also be interested in the LED Light Kit, item # 98174LED, to provide lights at the rear of the cargo carrier.
