Will Draw-Tite Trailer hitch # 24844 Fit the 4 Door Sedan Model of a 2009 Hyundai Elantra
Question:
Were looking for a hitch for our car. I would like to know if this hitch would fit our 2009 Hyndai Elantra Sedan? If not, what is different about it that it would not work? Thank you!

We have several hitches that are specifically designed to fit the 2009 Hyundai Elantra sedan. The trailer hitch that you have referenced, # 24844, is designed to fit the 2009 - 2011 Hyundai Elantra Touring Hatchback, so it will not fit the sedan. The difference is that # 24844 has a longer receiver tube so it is not too far under the vehicle.
The Sedan rear end has a different shape so the receiver tube is shorter. The comparable trailer hitch for a sedan model is # 24795. I have included a link to the installation instructions and a link to a video showing a typical installation.
If you plan to do some towing, the recommended ball mount is # 3594 and it should be used in the rise position only. The proper clip is # PC2. For a ball you can use # 19256 (1-7/8 inch diameter) or # 19258 (2 inch diameter). For trailer wiring, use T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness, # 118433. I have included a link to the installation details and a video showing a typical installation for you to view.
