Does Curt Hitch for 2016 Ford Fusion Require Using Stabilizer Strap with Bike Rack

Question:

So how important is the support strap for using a towing hitch on a Ford Fusion 2016? I don’t want to hook a strap to my car or I wouldn’t be choosing a hitch mount anyhow. Can I keep the under fascia with the draw-tite and not with the curt? The draw-tite just shows so much of the hitch it is not as pretty, and it’s tongue weight is 150# less.

For the Curt hitch part # C12091 that you referenced you have to use the strap like part # 18050 with bike racks to not void the hitch's warranty. We are well aware that a lot of people disregard this and seemingly don't have immediate issues, but it's still not something we can safely recommend.

The Draw Tite part # 24897 may not give you the look you want but it does not require the strap.
