Parts Needed to Tow a Trailer that has Brakes with a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee without Tow Package
Question:
Have a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee with OUT tow package. Would like to install a wiring kit WITH trailer brake controls. All I see is a light kit. Any help would be appreciated.

If you are wanting to tow a trailer that has brakes with your 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee then there are a couple of different things that you will need to add.
The Tekonsha T-One # 118727 that you referenced will give you a 4-Way flat connector to activate the lights on your trailer as you mentioned.
Once this kit has been installed you will want to install the Universal Wiring Kit # ETBC7. This will plug into the 4-Way that you installed and will include the additional wiring needed to have fully functioning 7-Way and 4-Way connectors at the rear of your Grand Cherokee.
If you do not already have a brake controller then I recommend using the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 as it is very easy to install and has an LCD screen. The LCD screen has a display which is more user friendly than figuring out codes like other brake controller use.
To complete your towing setup you will need a trailer hitch receiver, a ball mount, and a hitch ball. If you do not have the Diesel model then I recommend installing the Draw-Tite # 75699, but if you do have the Diesel model then I recommend the Draw-Tite # 75713.
The Curt Class III Ball Mount with 2" Ball # C45036 is a popular option that includes a ball mount with a 2 inch Drop as well as a 2 inch hitch ball, and a hitch pin and clip. You will want to check out the attached ball mount article to make sure that the 2 inch Drop is correct for your towing setup.
