Since you have a 6" lift on your 2002 GMC Sierra you will need a lift spacer in order for the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs to work. If you tell me what chassis you have (1500, 2500, 3500), whether it is a light-duty (LD) 6-lug or heavy-duty (HD) 8-lug, and whether it is 2 or 4 wheel drive I can confirm if the kit you have is the correct one for your vehicle.
The correct way to measure for a lift spacer is when the truck is on the ground without any added weight in the bed. You will want to measure from the bottom of the top bracket to the top of the bottom bracket where the airbags attach. You can choose the right spacer using the measurements attached below.
Space From Top To Bottom Bracket:
6.5" to 7.5" - part # F2536
7.5" to 8.5" - part # F2366
8.5" to 9.5" - part # F2368
10.5" to 11.5" - part # F2373
11.5" to 12.5" - part # F2374
The spacers will need to be placed between the top of the lower bracket and the bottom of the airbag. In order to operate the airbags from inside the vehicle I recommend using the Firestone Air Command I part # F2158.
