Replacing 3-Step System With 4-Step System on two Campers

Question:

I have two campers with the 3-step systems I want to replace using 4-steps. 2010 Dutchmen Grand Junctions measurements are 27-1/2 inch wide, 12 inch deep, and 16 inch tall. The rise/run is too steep for comfort. 2015 Keystone Cougars measurements are 27-1/8 inch wide, 12 inch deep and 14 inch tall. The rise/run is ok, but the bottom step is usually a good foot off the ground. Both step systems bolt from the sides. So far the only one I can find that may work for both is the Elkhart Tool and Die 1424 27inch X 12inch Nu-Kleen Quadra Step. My only concern is the width wont allow a snug fit into the campers existing bracket, meaning I'd have to put in washers or spacers to fill the gap, which may compromise the strength.

To get the correct 4-step replacement for your campers, the most important measurement is going to be the mounting base dimensions, as the widest steps we carry are 24", though the mounting dimensions are wider.

For example, the TorkLift GlowStep Revolution Scissor Steps w/ Landing Gear # TLA8004 has mounting base dimensions of 27-7/16" wide x 12" deep, similar to the dimensions you gave on your 2010 Dutchmen Grand Junction. The GlowStep platforms are 22" wide x 8" deep with a 7-1/2" drop/rise. There is also a handrail # TLA7621 available with these steps for added comfort.
