The Bulldog Winch Trailer Winch - Synthetic Rope - Hawse Fairlead - 4,400 lbs # BDW15020 is a really great winch designed for utility trailer use. It is able to be used as a boat trailer winch, but it has a slower run time with a long recovery cycle.

The Dutton-Lainson TW4000 StrongArm Electric Winch - Marine - 4,000 lbs # DL25200 is my recommendation with almost twice as fast a line speed under load and nowhere near the amperage draw. This will serve you better for your 4,500 lb boat trailer application. The 4,000 lb capacity of this winch will be more than adequate power to launch and trailer dock your boat on a 4,500 lb trailer.

I recommend the Dutton-Lainson TW4000 #DL25200. It's rated for up to a 4,000 boat and is powered through a quick disconnect hooked up to your tow vehicle's battery. So there's no need to add a battery onto your boat trailer.
