Wiring Kit for Flat Towing to Allow for Quick Connection of Toad and RV

Question:

I had the tow bar put on tow and they put a four pin on tow and I have the seven on coach. It is fine except the four is inconvenient for me to put the wire four into it. it just hangs out under grill. What I want to know is can I purchase your part number 30637 and plug it into the four on tow and tape it secure and not use the brake wires then this way I could get a new tow wire with a seven and six. Thank you.

If your towed vehicle has a 4-pole connector for its wheels-down lighting kit you can install a socket to avoid having the wire hanging down when you're not towing it. Blue Ox kit # BX8861 includes two 4-pole round sockets (one for the car and one for the RV) as well as a coiled 4-pole cord.

What you can do is cut off the 4-pole connector on the car wiring and connect it to one of the sockets that will mount on the car bumper cover. The other socket will install on the RV and splice into the wires from the RV 7-way. Then when you flat tow you just plug in the coiled cord and you're done.
