Weight Distribution System for Tongue Weight of 415 lbs that Allows Backing Up
Question:
I am buying a keystone passport that weights 4000 lb Mt and a tongue weight of 415 lbs, carry capacity of 1430 lbs and I probably will be close to full capacity all the time.I was going to purchase the equalizer 90-00-0800 because the ball size is 2-5/16. Is that a good choice, because I want leveling and sway control but want to be able to back up also.

The best way to pick out a weight distribution system is to base it off of the loaded tongue weight of the setup when it is loaded and ready to tow. This figure also includes the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. I attached a help article on determining tongue weight for you to check out as well. You will want the loaded tongue weight of your setup to fall right in the middle of the tongue weight range of the system you use.
If you have a tongue weight of 400 lbs though the Fastway system you'd want instead is the part # FA92-00-0600 which has a tongue weight range of 250 lbs to 600 lbs. This system has sway control and also allows backing up.
For a hitch ball you'd then want the part # EQ91-00-6100 which is a 2-5/16 inch ball.
