For your 2004 Dodge Ram 2500 short bed, I would recommend going with a 20K fifth-wheel hitch like the Curt A20 Fifth Wheel Trailer Hitch, part # C16541, to tow your 32ft RV. The reason I recommend a 20K is that the 20K hitches have more features. Also, if in the future you decide to tow a larger trailer, you will have the capacity to do so without having to get a new hitch.
To install the Curt # C16541, you will need to use Curt Custom Install Kit, part # C16420-204. This custom installation kit does not require drilling and will install in about half the time of a universal kit.
You want to make sure not to exceed the towing and tongue weight capacity of your truck or hitch. When using a slider fifth-wheel hitch, it must be in the forward position when driving on roads and highways. The sliding feature on the hitch is to give extra clearance when parking or driving through a camp site.
