How Far Out Does the Hitch Receiver Extend on the Curt Adjustable RV Hitch Receiver # 13703

Question:

Hi, I am looking for a hitch for my travel trailer. There are two models you sell that can work but I need some measurements to help me decide which will be best On the UF35-946403 I need to know if the top of receiver tube is level with the bottom level of the frame the hitch is welded to. I need it to be at least 1/8” lower to clear a cross bar. Also need to know how far the receiver tube extends beyond where hitch is welded to the frame, the edge of weld closest to the back end of trailer. On the Curt 13703 need to know how far the receiver tube extends beyond the edge of attachment plates to frame, the edge closest to back end of trailer. What I am trying to find out in both cases is where the opening to receiver tube is going to be in relation to the back end of my trailer. I am sure a lot of other people would also find this helpful. Thanks

The top of the receiver tube for the Ultra-Fab 2" Trailer Hitch Receiver for Trailer Frames # UF35-946403 that you mentioned sits level with the bottom of the brackets that mount to the underside of your trailer frame so you will want to use the Curt option for your setup.

The Curt option, part # 13703, has a measurement of 8-1/4 inches from the beam to the edge of the hitch receiver and a measurement of 2-3/4 inches from where the beam inserts into the bracket to the edge of the bracket nearest the rear of your trailer. This means that the edge of the receiver itself will extend 5-1/2 inches past where the bracket stops (see attached photo). This will give you an idea of how where the receiver will sit on your setup.

If you let me know what you will be using the hitch receiver for I can make some recommendations for you.
