Replacement Mounting Hardware for Silver Yakima HoldUp Bike Rack
Question:
Hi, i see you sell both Y8890176 AND Y8880129 hitch bolts for Hold Up racks. Backstory: Yakima sent a 1 1/4inch spine to replace an former 2inch spine and so - to sell it - I need a hitch rather than return an item so heavy to Yakima and await the right 2inch spine. But they sent a silver spine, not black. I believe I would need whichever is the older model. In a question I asked, someone answered but suggested the hitch pin to match or fit the black spine, but I dont believe thats correct. My original question was not clear, so no fault to the person who posted the answer. What is the difference in the hitch pins. Can you examine them and tell? Lisa

I spoke with my contact at Yakima regarding the correct replacement hardware for your Yakima HoldUp Bike Rack. He stated that since you have the silver/gray model, both the Replacement Mounting Hardware # Y8890176 and # Y8880129 will actually work. These are the same sized bolts and both are compatible with your 1-1/4 inch spine.
He did however state that he recommends going with the part # Y8890176, as this particular bolt is slightly stronger.
This will include the replacement hitch bolt, clip and washers.
