Will the Derale Series 8000 Transmission Cooler Part # D13504 Replace the Factory Cooler
Question:
I have a 2002 GMC Sierra 4.8 engine and tow package. Can I remove the factory oil cooler and replace it with D135004? Installing 2 cooler will be troublesome with the room available and air flow.

If you will be towing for extended periods of time then I do not recommend replacing your factory oil cooler. I would instead install the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit w/Barb Inlets part # D13504 in conjunction with the factory transmission cooler as this will be much more beneficial for your transmission than swapping it out. If you will not be towing frequently with the vehicle then you should be okay to replace your factory cooler with this aftermarket cooler.
Since you have identified space as being an issue, I recommend leaving your factory transmission cooler installed in addition with installing a remote mount transmission cooler like the Derale Dyno-Cool Remote Cooler with Fan and AN Inlets part # D12733 as this will be the most efficient method to cool your vehicle's transmission fluid.
