Can Trailer Wiring 118420 Be Used to Tow a 2010 Honda Fit and if Not What Parts are Needed
Question:
I think I bought the wrong harness. I want to tow my Fit behind my motorhome not tow something with my Fit. Is it possible to use this harness towing my Fit?

You are correct, the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness, item # 118420, is designed to tow a trailer with your Fit, not to tow the Fit behind a motorhome. The # 118420 harness will not work for towing the Fit, so you will need a different wiring harness altogether.
There are several options for tow bar wiring for the 2010 Honda Fit. Blue Ox recommends their Bulb and Socket Tail Light Wiring Kit, item # BX8869. I like this kit because it keeps the RV wiring completely separate from the Dinghy wiring. I would recommend using some silicone gasket maker, item # LT37467, to seal moisture out of the bulb socket and tail light housing when the installation is complete.
Along with the Bulb and Socket kit you will need connectors for the RV and the Dinghy. I would recommend the Blue Ox 4-Wire, Coiled Electrical Cord with 4-Way, Round Plugs, item # BX8861.
Another option is a Diode kit like the Roadmaster Universal Hy-Power Diode Wiring Kit, item # RM-154. This kit is designed to use the vehicles OEM tail lights, and the diodes prevent feedback onto the vehicles circuitry. We have a video installation and some detailed instructions for wiring this kit for you to review. Both of these should prove very helpful if you choose to go with diodes. The diode kit, # RM-154, includes basic wiring connectors to for going from the RV to the Dinghy.
