The location of the B&W Patriot 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch - Dual Jaw - 18,000 lbs Item # BWRVK3255 is determined by the installation kit. For your 2006 Ford Super Duty the installation kit for the Patriot hitch is # BWRVK2400. Based on the installation instructions for this kit, see link, the center of the hitch will be centered over the rear axle or slightly in front of it.
The other custom fit install kits, # RP50082-58 and # C16448-204, will have the center line of the hitch almost 3 inches forward of the center of the rear axle. In these two kits it is actually shown in the instructions whereas with the B&W instructions there is a little match involved to figure it out without installing the hitch first.
The Patriot is compatible with the other 2 kits listed above in case you were interested in one of them.
