Do Class Iv and Class V Hitches Have Different Sized Receiver Openings
Question:
Is a Class IV receiver a 2inch x 2inch receiver and a Class V receiver a 2 1/2inch x 2 1/2inch receiver? Regarding the BandW adjustable mount - will it fit both of these receivers? Thanks,

Expert Reply:
The B&W Tow & Stow Adjustable Ball Mounts will either fit a 2 inch receiver, # BWTS20048B, or a 2-1/2 inch receiver opening, like # BWTS20049B. None will fit both a 2 inch and a 2-1/2 inch receiver hitch opening.
Normally. Class IV trailer hitches, like # C14006 for 2014-2017 Chevy/GMC 1500 Trucks, will have 2x2 inch receiver openings. Class V hitches, like # C15300 , will use a 2-1/2 inch receiver opening. However, there are some Class V that use a 2x2 inch opening.
I have linked a few videos for you to review on the B&W Tow and Stow ball mount.
