Recommended Leaf Springs And Cushioned Equalizer With Wet Bolts For Triple Axle Trailer

Question:

Hello, Your site is very recommended from lots of reading on the net! I have a 2008 Keystone Raptor Tri axle camper. I broke a leaf spring and I am reading that you are the place for good upgrades. I need help in choosing a spring. Mine are double eye and measure 26 1/2 center eye to eyelong 1 3/4 wide and are 4 leaves. Keep in mind I want to upgrade. I see you have a 5 and 6 leaf. Also Im interested in your equalizers that are able to be greased. One last question what is the overall benefit to the cushioned stabalizers ? Thank you!

The 6-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 4,500-lb Trailer Axles - 26" Long # e27SR are the closest we have to what you are looking for. This will mean a possible change in the length of your shackle straps. These are the proper width and are 4 leaf springs capable of a 2,000 lb capacity individually or 4,000 lbs per axle. I have attached the dimensions of this spring to help. The capacity is more important than the number of leafs, so you want to get as close to your measurements as possible with capacity needed. I've linked the page to your other options for this 26 inch spring length.

For your wet bolt and solid state equalizers with built in grease zerk, you may be interested in the Dexter Heavy Duty Suspension Kit # K71-360-00.

If you want to move to cushioned equalizers, I recommend you go with the E-Z Flex Triple Axle Suspension Kit with 7-3/4" Equalizers # K71-657-00 which will give you the wet bolts as well as the cushioned suspension as the rubber core isolates and absorbs shock before it is transferred to your trailer frame. The benefits are a smoother ride for your truck and trailer and less wear on all your components.

I've attached an article on trailer suspension to assist.
