Recommended Transmission And Oil Cooler For 2015 Toyota Tacoma
Question:
Hi, I have a 2015 toyota tacoma 4.0L V6 - 4x4 and Id like to have my mechanic install an engine oil cooler and a transmission oil cooler. From what Ive read, the stacked plate fin is the way to go. i was looking at the derale 13503 for the transmission, but Im stumped on the engine oil cooler there are 4 different ones to choose from. Also, i was going to purchase the timbren SES for the rear and I counted a total of 4 leaf springs. 3 of the springs are the same size, but the bottom one is much thicker. So do i have 3 leaf springs or 4? Thanks.

The Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit w/Barb Inlets - Class III - Efficient # D13503 is a great choice for your 2015 Toyota Tacoma 4x4 with 4.0L V6 and the plate-fin is a good way to go. The internal turbulator agitate the fluid to facilitate heat transfer and prevent any undesirable drop in pressure.
For your engine oil cooler, I recommend the Derale Plate-Fin Engine Oil Cooler Kit w/ Adjustable Sandwich Adapter (Multiple Threads) - Class V # D15405. This is the complete mounting kit and has the different thread adapters for a perfect fit. I looked into your vehicle and you have a 3/4 inch-16 thread size.
If space is limited, I recommend using the Derale Atomic-Cool Remote Engine Oil Cooler Kit w/ Fan - Class V # D15450 because the fan will allow you to mount it anywhere you have room and still make it extremely functional.
For your suspension enhancement, I recommend the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System # TTORTUN4 because you have 4 leafs.
