Will Adding a Lock to B&W Patriot 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Prevent the Jaws from Fully Opening

I noticed a factory drilled hole in the top of the hitch, its located about where the latch handle is when fully opened, if I put a lock in that hole will the arm still open enough to allow jaws to open

On B&W Patriot 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch - Dual Jaw - 16,000 lbs Item # BWRVK3200 it is unlikely that the jaws will fully open with anything impeding the motion of the handle. The handle needs to fully open for the jaws to open (and stay open) so preventing it from doing so, if a little, would result in the jaws not opening properly.
