Will a Capture Plate Help Prevent Fifth Wheel From Damaging Truck?
Question:
Will the installation of a capture plate stop the goose neck on the 5th wheel from slamming into the front of the hitch during a breaking maneuver and the slamming into the back of the slide during acceleration. I've already destroyed my tail gait but this just doesn't seem safe. Your help would be appreciated.....

If you have destroyed the tail gate on your truck then something is definitely amiss; there is going to be some play in the hitch, but not to the point where a part of your truck would be ruined. You did not specify the hitch you used, but you would only need the Demco Capture Plates # DM6171 if you have a Demco Hijacker Autoslide and a Rota-Flex pin box.
