Pollak 6-Pole Trailer Wiring Socket # PK12720 Recommendation for Flat Towing a 2011 Honda Fit

Question:

I use a 6-wire flexo-coil wire behind the RV that I used to tow my Jeep with. Now Im setting up my Honda Fit for towing and have a hard time finding the correct tail light system to connect to the 6-wire. All I find is this flat 4-wire plug there are 4 wires plus a ground coming out of the RV to the 6-wire socket on the RV. Is there an adapter I can use? Or should I cut off the 4-wire and buy a 6-wire socket such as PK 12720 and hook up the 4 wires to the correct poles? Thanks

Expert Reply:

I would recommend you remove the 4-wire flat plug and replace it with a Pollak 6-Pole, Round Pin, Plastic Trailer Wiring Socket, part # PK12720, like you mentioned.

This way you would not have to use an adapter which would give you a cleaner install and give you one less component that could potentially fail on you.

I attached an FAQ article on tow bar wiring below for you to check out also.
