How Does Battery Get Added to Trailer for Powering Interior Lights
Question:
I have a 6x12 enclosed trailer I just purchased the trailer, it has a AC unit with interior lights and outlets all connected to a breaker box. When plugged into my truck the trailer running lights can come on but not the interior lights. Im thinking the the interior light are not connect with the truck plug. I want to be able to use lights and outlets without plugging into the house or a generator all the time. I was thinking about adding a battery. I want to be able to use either power source. How is the best way going about connecting the lights and outlets to the battery as well as the breaker box?

Best way would be to run the power wire of your trailer connector to the positive post of a trailer battery and then running the power wire of all of the accessories to the positive post of the battery. That way it's drawing from either source but the battery still gets a maintenance charge when connected to tow vehicle.
Basically it's a matter of installing a battery box so that you can securely install a battery and then running the 12 volt acc circuit of your 7-way to the positive post of it and then from there attaching the power wires of the accessories you want to run. There's really not much more to it than that.
The part # 329-HM318BKS is a very popular battery box we carry that would work well. For 10 gauge wire you then would want the part # 10-1-1.
