Recommended Base Plate Kit and Other Parts to Flat Tow a 2008 Jeep Wrangler with Warn Front Bumper

Question:

I own a Falcon 2 tow bar and a Jeep with an after market Warn bumper PN 87650. Do I have any base plate options to make these compatible?

Your Warn off-road bumper has shackle mounts. If the mounts are 3/4 of an inch thick you can use the adapter # RM-035 or if they're 1 inch thick you can use # RM-035-1. Both adapters will work with your Roadmaster Falcon 2 # RM-520 with no problem at all.

If you don't already have them you'll also need safety cables, wiring, a braking system, and likely a high-low adapter to flat tow the Jeep.

The safety cables I recommend at # RM-643. They're coiled which helps keep them off of the ground.

To power the Jeep's lights I suggest the diode kit # RM-15267. This will use the vehicle's tail lights by connecting to the RV's and includes the cord to go between the two. It's recommended to disconnect the battery of the Wrangler. To make this easier you can use a disconnect switch # RM-766.

For a supplemental braking system the SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO # SM99251 is a favorite around here because of how reliable it is and it's easier to install than many other permanently installed systems. You'll need a Stop Light Switch Kit # RM-751452 as well.

Finally, you'll likely need a high-low adapter. I've attached an article to help you determine the correct rise or drop your setup requires. I've also linked our selection of adapters for you to look at once you know what you need.

In addition to my recommendations I've linked some articles on flat towing that you may find helpful.
