Can Fifth-Wheel Hitch be Used on a Short Bed 2013 Dodge Ram With Factory Air Suspension and RamBox?

Question:

I see in some of your QAs you say you can install a 5th wheel hitch with a Dodge Ram with a RamBox and air suspension, however other QAs say you cannot, can you please clarify? If so, what do I need to order? I have a 2013 Dodge Ram 1500 5'7" RamBox, Longhorn package with factory air suspension I'm considering a new Grand Design Reflection 150 Series which claims to be designed for 1/2 tons with short boxes.

You can install a fifth-wheel hitch on your 2013 Dodge Ram by using the Reese Quick-Install Custom Base Rails # RP50142-58 which are a confirmed fit for your Ram 1500 with a 5-1/2 foot bed. For a hitch, I recommend the Reese # RP30928, which has a maximum towing weight of 20,000 lbs and a maximum tongue weight of 5,000 lbs.

Normally it would be required for you to purchase a Sidewinder to use with this hitch considering your Dodge Ram 1500 has a bed under 6 feet, but the newer Grand Design Reflection 150 Series uses Lippert's Turning Point Pin Box by Trailair, so you won't need a replacement king pin. I spoke with representatives of both Lippert and Reese who confirmed to me that this combination of hitch and pin box would work.

I've also added links to videos of the rails and hitch for you to take a look at.
