Does a Breakaway System Need to Have the Breakaway Switch to Properly Function

Will it operate properly without the breakaway connected?

Your Brake Buddy, like the Roadmaster Even Brake # RM-9400, needs to have a breakaway switch to properly function. Without a breakaway switch the vehicle that is being towed could cause much more damaged as the brakes would not be activated if the vehicle being towed were to be disconnected.
Nobody ever expects that something will happen to them, but it is always best to go with more safety and ensure that it is all setup correctly.
