Question:
I have a 2009 Toyota Highlander Hybrid. What color wire cioming off the brake pedal does the brake controller red wire need to connect to? There are several to choose from and I do not want to compromise the factory breaking system. Thanks.

I spoke with my contact at Tekonsha and he recommended that you use a multimeter like the 7-Function Digital Multimeter, part # PT89ZR, and test the blue wire behind the brake pedal on your 2009 Toyota Highlander Hybrid. This blue wire will be used as the brake switch wire. You will want to make sure the blue wire has 12 volts when the brake pedal is activated and none when it is not.
If the blue wire tests as described, then you will attach it to the red wire on the harness of the Tekonsha P3 Brake Controller, part # 90195.
If the blue wire does not test correctly, you will want to test the other wires behind the brake pedal to find the correct one.
