Can the Single Function Air Spring Control Panel Work Without An Air Tank?

do i have to use an air tank with the f2149 and what could happen if i done? thanks with your help. i ordered the f2149.

The Single Function Air Spring Control Panel - Pneumatic - Black Face # F2149 does not require an air tank for most applications however all applications require a compressor. If you don't already have a compressor, I recommend the Firestone Standard Duty Air Compressor - 130 psi # F9284. The air tanks simply allow the system to work faster and eases the motor function at any given time. If you determine you would like a tank, I recommend the Firestone Air Tank, 1 Gallon - (4) 1/4 NPT Ports # F9244.
