Comparing Prodigy P2 and P3 Brake Controllers for 2014 Toyota Tundra
Question:
Hi, Im shopping for a Brake Control for my 2014 Tundra, 4 Dr., 4X4. Im going to be towing a travel trailer which has a gross weight of about 3700 lbs. It seems the two controls that I narrowed it down to are - Tekonsha P3, #90195 and the Tekonsha Prodigy P2, #90885. I wanted to get your recommendation /opinion on which one would better for my Tundra and Travel Trailer. Thank you,

If you have never used a brake controller before, the P2 # 90885 will be easier to learn on and use than the P3, # 90195. The P3 has several features the P2 doesn't including the ability to change the LED screen color, change the language, and the biggest difference is the diagnostics. Instead of flashing a code you would have to look at the P3 has clear messages telling you what the problem is. With the P3 you can also save setting for different trailers which is nice too.
I would go with the P3 if I were making the choice but if I was someone who disliked electronics and surfing through menu screens I would probably avoid it and go with something a bit more direct in it's function.
Other than that the controllers function in the same way and mount in the same way. I have included links to video reviews on both controllers for you to compare.
For either controller the correct install harness is the part # 3040-P for your 2014 Toyota Tundra.
