How Much Clearance is Needed Between Bed Rails and Gooseneck Trailer Overhang

Question:

Do you know the approximate ride height your gooseneck trailer should be from your tailgate to avoiding contact with the tailgate? I assume your trailer being level has a lot to do with it also, my fifth wheel had between 5 an 6 inches. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

You really want at least 6 inches between the bed rails of your truck and the overhang of your trailer so that you don't have clearance issues. You also need to have your trailer sitting as level as possible.

In order to determine the torque rating for the lug nuts on your trailer you will need to know check out the chart I attached that shows all of the torque specs for all the trailer lugs available based on stud size, wheel material and wheel size.
