Recommended Replacement ST215/75R14 Tire for Single Axle Boat Trailer

Question:

I have a single axle bass boat trailer. I currently have size ST215/75R14 TIRES. I have used Goodyear Marathon and Hi-Run radial tires in the past. They are at class C load. What tire would you recommend? Can I go to class D load w/o hurting my trailer? Thanks

For a replacement ST215/75R14 tire on your single axle bass boat trailer, I recommend the Provider ST215/75R14 Radial Trailer Tire # TTWTR21514. This is a premium radial trailer tire that has a 1,870 pound maximum load at 50 psi. The tire meets DOT specifications, exceeds FMVSS and comes with a 2-year limited warranty.

There is no harm at all with going to a load range D tire. Just keep in mind that your trailer's weight capacity will still be limited to its weakest component. For example, the Load Range D Provider ST215/75R14 Radial Trailer Tire # TTWTRTM2157514D has a 2,200 pound maximum load at 65 psi, but if the axle rating of your boat trailer is 3,000 pounds, you will still need to stay under the axle's limit even if the combined load capacity of your two trailer tires is 4,400 pounds.

The best way to extend the life of your trailer tires is to always inflate them to their maximum psi and stay under their specified load capacity. I have also attached a couple of articles on tires and wheels that you may find helpful.
