Only Trailer Brake Lights Working when Connected to Tow Vehicle

There are a couple of things you can check if not all of your trailer's signal lights are working correctly.

I recommend first taking a look at both the vehicle and trailer connectors to see if there is any dirt or corrosion present. This can prevent them from making a secure connection and may lead to the issues you are having. Simply clean any debris that you see and this should hopefully resolve the problem.

Also check to make sure that all of your ground connections are made to clean, bare metal surfaces that are free of any debris. A bad ground can lead to some lights working but not others, as you are experiencing.

Depending on your tow vehicle, there could be a missing or blown fuse under the hood that is required for towing lights. This information should be in your owner's manual. Replacing a missing or damaged fuse can be a simple fix.
